Smoke Alarms

From February 2022, a new standard will be introduced to ensure ALL homes in Scotland have interlinked alarms fitted for the safety of the occupant, regardless of tenure. All homes must have the following:

• One smoke alarm installed in the room most frequently used for general living purposes.

• One smoke alarm in every circulation space on each storey, such as hallways and landings.

• One heat alarm installed in every kitchen.
